GET INVOLVED
What can I do?
The latest research suggests that we should have a defibrillator every 200 metres, so that there is never one too far away when needed in an emergency. But this requires an effort by the whole community. You can help us to achieve this goal by purchasing, raising funds for, or sponsoring a public access defibrillator for your local community.
Providing a public access defibrillator (PAD)
If you wish to provide the community with a PAD, we can help by advising on purchase and placement for the machine. Click here to view the two types of machine we recommend, with costs. This could be a one off purchase, or you may wish to sponsor the ongoing cost of the defibrillator (e.g. replacement batteries or patient pads) as well.
Sponsoring an existing defibrillator
You may consider adopting one of our existing defibrillators. This would involve a yearly contribution to cover the cost of maintaining the machine – including replacement electrical pads or batteries when necessary. A plaque would be installed next to your adopted defib or if purchasing from new the cabinet can carry your logo acknowledging your support.
Volunteer as a defibrillator guardian.
Looking after our defibrillators is important so that they remain 'rescue ready' 24 hours a day. Someone needs to check the defibrillator regularly, and liaise with the ADF team.
Donate to the ADF
The ADF supplies and maintains several machines each year. We welcome donations to help cover the cost of this.
Any donation will go directly to the provision and maintenance of PAD in the Farnham area serving our community.
